English In-Class Essay #3

I had a choice, whether I wanted to stay or go. If I stayed, I knew there would be trouble; if I went, I knew there would be double. This was a big decision for me, the biggest one I ever made in my life.

It was a choice between moving from a big city, a city I really loved, was born and raised in, and had a best friend in, to another state down south, a part of the state where there are no sidewalks and means of transportation. I decided to move.

I decided to move mainly because of family and the nice weather. Most of my family form my mother's side was down there, in Florida, and most of my family from my father's side was up here, in New York. The reason why I chose my mother's side over my father's is whole other story in itself.

I knew going from up here to down there would change a lot of things, some for the better, and some for the worse. Life up there mostly sucked anyway, considering I was this lonely, anti-social bastard, who didn't care about school, had only one friend, was just like myself in many ways, and just spent most of my time at home, on my outdated PC.

The time was getting closer, the time to move. I was getting more scared and nervous as the days came near. The time finally came when it was time to move.

Here I am now, in Florida. This is when the second, most important part of my life really begins. This is the place where I had decided what I wanted to do with my life.

Three years have passed now, since I moved and I can't believe what I accomplished! I started out by getting a job at a toy store and with a few months working there, got rid of my ant-socialism, and made some new friends. I am also very close to getting a degree in Criminal Justice and heading towards a career as a Private Investigator. And, after three years of being down here, I finally got a car!

To conclude, moving from New York to Florida was the most frightening thing, which happened in my life, at the young age of twenty-one. I am glad I did what I did and made the decisions I made while being here because if I didn't, I would probably be in New York still doing I don't know what instead of being in this English class at eight in the morning writing this essay!
